Hunyadi, Gagarin to be honoured with monuments in Belgrade

Hungarian military commander Janos Hunyadi (c 1406 – 1456) and Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin (1934 – 1968) will be honoured with monuments in Belgrade, the City Assembly decided on Thursday.

BELGRADE - Hungarian military commander Janos Hunyadi (c 1406 – 1456) and Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin (1934 – 1968) will be honoured with monuments in Belgrade, the City Assembly decided on Thursday.

The monument to Hunyadi - known among Serbs as Sibinjanin Janko - will be erected at the Zemun Quay with funds to be secured by the Hungarian embassy in Belgrade.
