Lidl opens 16 outlets in 12 Serbian cities

The Lidl Serbia retail chain opened 16 outlets in 12 Serbian cities on Thursday morning, including five in Belgrade.

BELGRADE - The Lidl Serbia retail chain opened 16 outlets in 12 Serbian cities on Thursday morning, including five in Belgrade.


Customers will be able to choose from among 1,500 brands, including as many as 350 local ones.

BELGRADE - This is no ordinary day and no ordinary store - this is a day when we are making a great step forward towards better life, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Belgrade on Thursday morning as the Lidl retail chain simultaneously opened 16 outlets in 12 Serbian cities.

"With retail supply like this, the country is also enabling the people to choose cheap but quality goods," Vucic said at the opening of a Vojislav Ilic Street outlet in Belgrade.


Lidl example of development of cooperation - ambassador

BELGRADE - The Lidl retail chain is a good example of what German companies are advocating in Serbia - a sustainable and well-thought-out approach to business, German Ambassador to Serbia Thomas Schieb said Thursday.

Lidl is an example of the way the economic cooperation between Serbia and Germany is developing, Schieb said at the opening of a Vojislav Ilic Street Lidl store in Belgrade.
