December lending 2.5 pct up

Loans to businesses and entrepreneurs and retail lending totalled around 2,364 bln dinars in December 2018, rising 2.5 pct from last November, the Association of Serbian banks said in a statement.

BELGRADE - Loans to businesses and entrepreneurs and retail lending totalled around 2,364 bln dinars
(1 euro = 118 dinars) in December 2018, rising 2.5 pct from last November, the Association of Serbian banks said in a statement.


Retail loans were 0.3 pct up, totalling around 962.5 bln dinars at the end of 2018.


Cash loans were 1.3 pct up and consumer loans were 0.6 pct down, while refinancing loans were 3.1 pct down.


Agricultural loans rose 0.2 pct and housing loans were 0.1 pct up.


Loans to businesses totalled around 1,352 bln dinars and were 4.2 pct up from the previous month.


Loans to entrepreneurs totalled 49.6 bln dinars - 2 pct more compared to November.


At the end of last year, defaults accounted for 5.3 pct of total bank loans compared to 8.7 pct a year ago.
