Inflation 0.1 pct up in December, 2.0 pct up y-o-y

In December 2018, Serbian inflation grew by 0.1 pct m-o-m and by 2 pct compared to the same month of 2017, the national statistical office RZS said in a statement.

BELGRADE - In December 2018, Serbian inflation grew by 0.1 pct m-o-m and by 2 pct compared to the same month of 2017, the national statistical office RZS said in a statement.


A 2 pct increase of consumer prices was noted in the 12 months of 2018 in relation to 2017.


"Observed by main groups according to the destination of consumption in December 2018 in relation to the previous month, increase of prices was noted in the group Food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.0 pct) and in the groups Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house and Health (by 0.4 pct each).


"A decrease of prices was noted in the groups Transport (-1.7 pct), Restaurants and hotels (-0.5 pct), Recreation and culture (-0.3 pct) and in the groups Communication and Clothing and footwear (by -0.2 pct each)," it said.
