Mihajlovic meets with Ndegwa

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic on Friday met with World Bank Country Manager for Serbia Stephen Ndegwa to discuss the completion of construction works on the eastern leg of Corridor 10, co-funded by the World Bank.

BELA PALANKA - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic on Friday met with World Bank Country Manager for Serbia Stephen Ndegwa to discuss the completion of construction works on the eastern leg of Corridor 10, co-funded by the World Bank.

"The construction of the eastern leg is a significant project for Serbia and for regional connectivity, and that is why the entire team of the Ministry (of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure) is on the site to support the Corridors of Serbia in efficient completion the remaining works and to ensure the full motorway to the Bulgarian border is opened to traffic in the autumn," Mihajlovic said at the meeting, held at the Corridors of Serbia camp in Bela Palanka, southeastern Serbia.

Ndegwa said he was satisfied with the commitment of the Ministry and Corridors of Serbia - the investor - to completing the project and with the progress of the works that was visible on the site.

Mihajlovic and Ndegwa also discussed the reform of the road sector and further steps in its implementation, the ministry said in a statement.
