BELGRADE- Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic on Thursday said 298 mln euros worth of Serbian products less had been sold in Kosovo-Metohija in the nine months since the November 21 introduction of Pristina's taxes on goods from central Serbia.

In a statement to Tanjug, he said a daily 1.087 mln euros worth of goods less had been shipped to Kosovo-Metohija in the period.

"That is the direct damage, but the indirect damage will be higher and particularly reflected in the fact that our businesspeople will lose that market for at least two reasons. The first is that businesses from countries in the region will take the place of our products and the second reason is a negative campaign in Kosovo media against Serbian products," Ljajic said.

It will take a long time to normalise trade relations even if the taxes are lifted, Ljajic said.
