20.2 pct more building permits issued in July

A total 2,200 building permits were issued in Serbia in July 2019, which was a 20.2 pct increase compared to July 2018, the national statistical office RZS has said.

BELGRADE- A total 2,200 building permits were issued in Serbia in July 2019, which was a 20.2 pct increase compared to July 2018, the national statistical office RZS has said.

The index of the anticipated value of works in July 2019 increased by 76.1 pct relative to July 2018, it said.

"Observed by types of constructions, in July 2019, 79.9 pct of building permits related to buildings and 20.1 pct to civil engineering. When referring only to buildings, 67.6 pct related to residential buildings and 32.4 pct to non-residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (69.5 pct).

According to the permits issued in July 2019 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 3,215 dwellings with average area of 79.9 sq m was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 7.7 pct of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with an average area of 148.7 sq m, and 90.7 pct of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with a significantly smaller average area of 71.4 sq m.

The anticipated value of works of new construction in July 2019 amounted to 79.1 pct of the total anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in the Belgrade District (33.3 pct), followed by the Danube District (16.7 pct), the Srem District (6.1 pct), the South Backa District (5.8 pct) and the Central Banat District(4.0 pct), while the shares of other areas are from 0.1 pct to 3.6 pct," the RZS said in a statement.
