BELEX stock trading plummets, indices in green territory

Stock trading on the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) plummeted Tuesday as the overall turnover was a mere 3.9 mln dinars (around 33.5 thousand euros), but indices closed in green territory.

BELGRADE - Stock trading on the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) plummeted Tuesday as the overall turnover was a mere 3.9 mln dinars (around 33.5 thousand euros), but indices closed in green territory.

Compared to Monday's trading, the BELEX15 index remained steady at 770.96 points, while BELEXline nudged up to 1,675.61 points.

Despite the low overall turnover, preferred stocks of the tobacco company Philip Morris saw solid trading worth approx. 1.9 mln dinars but fell sharply by 3.9 pct to 5,755 dinars, while the petroleum company Naftna industrija Srbije rose 0.1 pct to 728 dinars and generated a turnover of 1.5 mln dinars.

Other companies recorded negligible stock trading turnovers.

Foreign investors accounted for 18.57 pct of the total turnover and for 37.14 pct of the total purchases, while taking no part in sales.

There was no trading in Serbian government bonds.
