BELGRADE - Integration into the Defence Industry of Serbia group creates the conditions for weapons and military equipment producers to acquire new technologies more efficiently and manufacture complex combat platforms for the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces through a clear role of each company in the technological chain of manufacture, says the general manager of Valjevo-based Krusik, which is a part of the group.

A Serbian government decree that took effect on January 8 has created the conditions for establishing the group, which are defined by the Law on Production and Trade of Armament and Military Equipment, he said.

The Group consists of over 15 companies that are holders of defence and base technologies.

According to a statement released by Krusik, a government programme aimed at developing the production capacities in the Group's companies will ensure a higher level of investment in the factories.

This means a significant boost to the production and export potential of the factories and the defence industry as a whole, and indirectly, to the capabilities of other manufacturers of weapons and military equipment and their subcontractors, university faculties and institutes and the Serbian economy as a whole, through clearly defined Defence Technology Roadmaps, the Krusik general manager said.
