BELGRADE - Belgrade is a desirable destination for Israeli tourists, as reaffirmed by great interest at the just-concluded International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) in Tel Aviv, where the Tourism Organisation of Belgrade (TOB) promoted city breaks in Belgrade, as well as its attractions, culture and festivals.

During the trade show, a large number of meetings were held at the Serbia national booth with tour operators, agents, journalists and bloggers interested in promoting Belgrade and Serbia to the Israeli audience.

The booth was also visited by Serbian Ambassador to Israel Milutin Stanojevic, who said Israelis found the hospitality they encountered in Serbia to be exceptionally significant.

A happy hour with rakia and wine tasting was also held at the booth for business visitors.

At the beginning of last year, Israel's top travel portal Lametayel recommended Belgrade as a must-visit destination for 2019, which resulted in Israeli guests returning to the Top 10 with around 76,000 overnight stays in the city.

In a bid to reach out to as many potential Israeli tourists as possible, TOB recently launched a Hebrew-language social media marketing campaign seen by around 1.4 mln people.

The online campaign will be continued in 2020, in particular during the summer season and the next New Year holidays.
