Number of construction permits up 31.3 pct in January y-o-y

The number of construction permits issued in Serbia in January this year was 1,289 - up by 31.3 pct y-o-y, according to the national statistical office RZS.

BELGRADE - The number of construction permits issued in Serbia in January this year was 1,289 - up by 31.3 pct y-o-y, according to the national statistical office RZS.

The anticipated value of construction works in January 2020 is 70.7 pct higher compared to January 2019.

In terms of the type of structure, buildings accounted for 71.6 pct of the total permits issued in January 2020, while other structures made up the remaining 28.4 pct.

Residential buildings accounted for 64 pct of all buildings and non-residential buildings made up 36 pct, with pipelines and communication and electrical lines representing the majority of other structures (62.6 pct).

Viewed by regions, the highest construction activity is expected in the Belgrade region (50 pct), followed by the South Banat region (20.5 pct) and the South Backa region (7.3 pct), while other regions account for up to 2.9 pct.
