Serbia repays around 850 mln euros of old debt

BELGRADE - Serbia repaid 100 bln dinars (around 850 mln euros) of old debt on Thursday, the Ministry of Finance has confirmed to Tanjug.

The ministry said there was 287 bln dinars in state coffers despite the repayment and that Serbia was fully financially liquid and meeting its obligations in a timely manner.

In a statement to Tanjug earlier this year, Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said Serbia had sufficient funds to meet all its obligations, including an external debt accounting for about 30 pct of the total debt for 2023, or around 184 bln dinars.
