SEOUL - There is great potential for further development of Serbia-South Korea economic relations and we must work at an accelerated pace to sign an agreement on economic partnership by the end of next year, Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic, who is on an official visit to South Korea, said on Friday.

Momirovic said that, without a doubt, the agreement would bring concrete results to the Serbian and South Korean economies, which he noted were embarking on a new era of cooperation.

"Yesterday and today, we had a busy schedule of meetings, starting from a meeting with KIA Corporation President and CEO Ho Sung Song and the executive vice president of SK, South Korea's second-largest corporation, which has revenues in excess of 160 bln euros and represents one of the leading South Korean companies in energy, telecommunications and advanced technologies," Momirovic said.

He said he had also met with representatives of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), which he noted brought together companies whose imports of agricultural and food products were worth over 1 bln euros a year.

He noted that "more than concrete" opportunities had been opened up for Serbian companies and that he was confident the results of the visit would be significant for Serbia's economic development.

He said combining Serbia's potential with South Korean experience and innovation would create new opportunities for companies, young people and all Serbian citizens.
