Air Serbia to introduce direct flights between Belgrade, Shanghai on January 11
BELGRADE - On January 11, Air Serbia will launch direct flights between Belgrade and Shanghai (Shanghai Pudong Airport - PVG), the national airline announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, Air Serbia said it would operate flights on the route twice a week during the upcoming winter season.
"Flights between Belgrade and Shanghai will also be operated during the next summer season, which begins on March 30, 2025," it said.
"Just nine days ago, on Monday, September 30, 2024, we launched scheduled flights between Belgrade and Guangzhou. This is our second destination in the People's Republic of China, after Tianjin, which was added to our network on December 9, 2022. With the introduction of direct flights to Shanghai on January 11, 2025, along with the visa-free regime and the recently signed free trade agreement, we are contributing to the further strengthening of economic relations, business, tourism, and cultural ties between Serbia and China. We are confident that our scheduled flights between the capital of Serbia and Shanghai will facilitate faster business and tourism travel, as well as more efficient exchange of goods and services between our two traditionally friendly countries," said Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek.
With the introduction of flights to Shanghai, Air Serbia will provide passengers with good connections from eastern China, via Belgrade, to Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Ljubljana, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Podgorica, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Krakow, Oslo, Bologna, Venice, Zurich and other cities in its network, the statement also said.
