BELGRADE - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic and Serbian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali will attend the annual meetings of the IMF Board of Governors and the World Bank Group, to be held in Washington from October 21 through 26, the central bank has announced.

The delegation is led by Tabakovic, who is also Serbia’s governor to the IMF.

"The key topics at the Annual Meetings will concern the current global economic developments and outlook amid pronounced geopolitical tensions, and relevant economic policy measures. The IMF Managing Director will present the Global Policy Agenda.

In addition to the plenary meeting of the IMF-WBG Board of Directors, as the highest managing bodies, the meetings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee and the joint Development Committee, as advisory bodies of the IMF and the WBG, are also planned."

The Serbian delegation will also take part in a joint meeting of the Swiss Constituency, which Serbia is a part of, and in a closed-door meeting with governors and finance ministers on the economic outlook for Central and Eastern Europe.

"Numerous bilateral meetings with the IMF and WB management and representatives are also planned.

A number of meetings with managers of leading financial institutions and foreign investors interested in Serbia are also scheduled, particularly in light of Serbia’s historic success – the formal obtainment of investment grade rating," the NBS also said.
