BELGRADE - Air Serbia carried more than 3.8 mln passengers in the first ten months of this year, which is a 7 pct increase y-o-y, the national airline said in a statement on Monday.
"Air Serbia carried 381,386 passengers in scheduled and charter traffic during October 2024, marking a 4 pct increase compared to the same month last year," it said. "The Serbian national airline operated 4,071 flights from the airports in Belgrade, Nis, and Kraljevo in October, an increase of 49 flights compared to the same month in 2023," it said.
"October, our birthday month, was very special. At the beginning of it, we welcomed our 30-millionth passenger since we began operating under the name Air Serbia, and just a few days later, a new Airbus A330-200 aircraft for long-haul flights joined our fleet. Our strategy of expanding our fleet and network of destinations has proven to be successful. Thanks to this, and the trust that passengers show us every day, we are recording record results month after month. We will continue to expand our network in the upcoming period by introducing direct flights to Shanghai, Ibiza, Mykonos, and Sardinia. I believe this will delight our passengers," said Air Serbia General Manager Commercial and Strategy Bosko Rupic.
In October, Air Serbia’s most popular destinations in the region were Tivat and Podgorica, while Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, Frankfurt and Milan were the most popular ones in Western Europe, and the most sought-after flights in the Euro-Mediterranean zone were to Larnaca, Istanbul, and Athens, Air Serbia said.
