BELGRADE - Presenting the 2025 budget bill in the parliament, Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said on Monday it was development-minded and would continue to strengthen the national economy.
"We continue the fight for a strong, powerful Serbia. We continue the fight for a strong economy, for new capital investments, new investors, additional jobs - all that for the sake of what has been the number one priority for us: better and higher quality of life for all our citizens," Vucevic said.
He noted that Serbia's public finances were fully stable and healthy and resting on solid foundations, and that macroeconomic indicators increasingly confirmed the success of the country's economic policy.
"Serbia has become a country with investment-grade rating, one that has become a big-league player, to put it in sporting language, when it comes to economy and business, and one that is heading forward, resistant to all shocks and challenges we are faced with," Vucevic said.
He said improvement of living standards remained a priority for his government.
After Vucevic's address, Speaker Ana Brnabic ordered a recess due to a scuffle between MPs and called the whips of parliamentary groups to consultations.
