Mesarovic: We want to host Serbia Days event in Shanghai

SHANGHAI - Serbian Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic, who is visiting China, urged Shanghai Vice Mayor Hua Yuan and his aides to support Serbian businesses wishing to sell products to supermarkets in the city - which consumes a total of 70,000 t of food products a day - and noted that Serbia wanted to host a Serbia Days event in Shanghai, China's biggest economic hub.

"In just under a month, a large Serbian political and business delegation will come to Shanghai, so we expect numerous concrete meetings with retail chains as well as a continuation of talks about expanding the tourism supply and boosting cooperation among young people and universities in Serbia and Shanghai," Mesarovic wrote in an Instagram post.

At a working dinner she attended at the vice mayor's invitation, Mesarovic invited top Shanghai officials to EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.

"I expressed great gratitude to PR China for the principled support for the territorial sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Serbia. We continue to strengthen our bilateral relations and new opportunities for Serbian-Chinese cooperation in the economy, culture and education," she noted.
