Brnabic urges timely measures for boosting GDP growth

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Monday chaired a session of a council coordinating activities and measures aimed at GDP growth.

She urged a review of the present state of the Serbian economy and a timely reaction to ensure the highest possible economic growth this year.

The council concluded that special emphasis would be placed on finding new export markets for Serbian products, the government said in a statement.

It said all necessary measures had been taken to ensure timely disbursement of subsidies to farmers.

The statement also said the Ministry of Agriculture had revised the criteria for participation in an IPARD programme to enable more registered farms to apply for European funds.

The council analysed the results achieved in all fields of significance for stability of the national economy and sustainable economic growth and especially discussed the fields due to help Serbia's GDP growth in 2023, specifically in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

It noted the significance of further investment in capital road and rail infrastructure projects to maintain sustainable economic growth.
