MT KOPAONIK - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic said on Tuesday the government would ensure stable energy supplies in the period to come.
Addressing a Kopaonik Business Forum panel on energy security amid the global economic crisis, Djedovic said that, thanks to storage facilities in Serbia and Hungary, the government had secured sufficient gas supplies for the winter season and that oil derivatives reserves at the end of 2022 had been 54 pct higher relative to 2021.
"At the same time, we have managed to keep the electricity price for households one of the lowest in Europe and the region despite an 8 pct price correction in January this year, which is also the case with the gas price for households," she noted.
Thanks to fiscal reforms in previous years and active government measures amid the energy crisis, we have succeeded in keeping the economy competitive and Serbia attractive to investors, as well as in averting a full spillover of skyrocketing stock market prices into the Serbian market, Djedovic said.
