Basta meets with representative of India's Allana Group

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Economy Rade Basta spoke on Friday with Afzal Aziz, president of international business development at India's Allana Group, about potentials for investing in Serbia.

"Serbia is the right opportunity for investments because, as a country, we lead the way in attracting FDI, we have a favourable business climate and FTAs with other countries," Basta said.

Basta said Serbia had registered a record-high level of FDI despite the global crisis, the Ministry of Economy said in a statement.

"The Ministry of Economy is a dependable partner," Basta added.

Aziz said Allana was a leading producer and exporter of processed food and agricultural products in India that has been operating for over 150 years.

He said the company had processed and marketed over one million metric tons of agricultural products in the fiscal year of 2021.
