BUDAPEST - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic met with the president of the Western Balkans committee of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Attila Galambos, in Budapest on Wednesday.

They discussed a bilateral agreement under which Hungary has secured 80 mln euros for projects in Serbia.

They announced they would propose new joint projects, especially on the Danube river, and that the Serbian and Hungarian chambers of commerce would work on expediting truck traffic across the Serbia-Hungary border.

Speaking to Tanjug after the meeting, Vesic said Hungary was assisting infrastructure and environmental protection projects in Serbia with 80 mln euros.

He announced a session of a working group tasked with defining new joint projects to be carried out as part of the agreement would be scheduled in the next few weeks.

"The agreement will be extended at a session of the two governments that is expected to take place in the period to come. We will reach an agreement on how the projects will be funded. We also proposed some new joint projects, especially on the Danube, that could be included in the inter-state agreement," Vesic said.

"We also discussed how the two chambers can better help our trucks entering Hungary to pass border checks more quickly," he also said.
