Basta: Israeli companies see Serbia as good investment location
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Economy Rade Basta met with Israeli Ambassador to Belgrade Yahel Vilan on Thursday to discuss Israeli investments in Serbia.
Basta noted that the level of bilateral relations was high and that the opening of a Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia office in Jerusalem two years ago had helped advance the economic ties.
"Together, we are changing Serbia's image and investing in a better future. Our task is to offer institutional support to the business environment and enable business communities on both sides to maximise their business potentials. I am proud that Israeli companies recognise Serbia as a good investment location, and I am especially proud they are building in Serbia," Basta said.
He added that the Ministry of Economy was recognised as a good and dependable partner.
"You can expect our support and assistance in implementation of each individual stage of investment projects in Serbia," Basta said.
Vilan said a re-establishment of direct flights between Belgrade and Tel Aviv was very helpful to the business community and development of the tourism industry.
He noted that a Serbia-Israel committee on trade and economic cooperation was a major instrument of further advancement of economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Basta and Vilan agreeed there was space for further advancement of economic cooperation, an official statement said.
