Serbian September, October y-o-y inflation lower compared to eight EU states

BELGRADE - Serbian y-o-y inflation in September and October was higher compared to the EU, but lower compared to some EU member states, according to the December issue of the MAT economic monthly, a publication of the Belgrade Faculty of Economics and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

According to the harmonised index of consumer prices, y-o-y inflation in September was 13.6 pct compared to 10.9 pct in the EU.

In October, it was 14.6 pct compared to 11.5 pct in the EU.

But, compared to Serbia, eight EU member states registered higher y-o-y inflation in the two months.

The 13.6 pct Serbian y-o-y inflation in September was lower compared to Bulgaria (15.6 pct), Poland (15.7 pct), the Netherlands (17.1 pct), the Czech Republic (17.8 pct), Hungary (20.7 pct), Latvia (22 pct), Lithuania (22.5 pct) and Estonia (24.1 pct).

The 14.6 pct y-o-y inflation in October was lower compared to Bulgaria (14.8 pct), the Czech Republic (15.5 pct), Poland (16.4 pct), the Netherlands (16.8 pct), Latvia (21.7 pct), Hungary (21.9 pct), Lithuania (22.1 pct) and Estonia (22.5 pct).
