Momirovic: New chapter ahead for Serbia-Uganda relations
ENTEBBE - Serbia is proud of its history of good relations with Uganda, and in the times we live in, it is important to continue to build friendships and multi-faceted cooperation, Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said after a meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Entebbe as part of a three-day official working visit to eastern Africa.
"I presented to President Museveni a letter of invitation from the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to visit Serbia so that we can strengthen further our economic as well as political ties," Momirovic said.
He added that the decades-long friendship between Serbia and Uganda, which dates back to joint activities in the Non-Aligned Movement, would remain on an upward trajectory in the period to come as well, the Ministry of Internal and External Trade said in a statement.
Momirovic also held meetings with Ugandan PM Robinah Nabbanja and many government ministers to exchange views on all topics of mutual significance, and specific concrete steps were also taken in terms of bilateral trade.
"There is ample room to market our products in Uganda, and our goal is to export our agricultural and confectionery products as much as possible, so we will not let this opportunity slip, but continue to develop our trade relations to enable as many Serbian companies as possible to market their products and invest in the territory of this beautiful African state," said Momirovic.
