Serbia's employed population up 2.9 pct y-o-y in Q1 2023

BELGRADE - In Q1 2023, the employed population in Serbia totalled 2,349,747 - up by 65,461 or by 2.9 pct relative to Q1 2022, according to figures released by the national statistical office RZS.

In a statement, it said 1,887,815 of the total employed people worked for legal persons and that 406,538 were entrepreneurs, employees of entrepreneurs and self-employed people, while 55,394 people were registered as individual agricultural producers.

Year-on-year, the number of employees of legal persons rose by 52,358, or by 2.9 pct.

The number of entrepreneurs, employees of entrepreneurs and self-employed people was up by 15,735 pct, or by 4.0 pct, while the number of registered individual agricultural producers declined by 2,632, or by 4.5 pct.

Relative to the previous quarter, the total employed population was up by 7,503, or by 0.3 pct, the number of employees of legal persons rose by 6,308, or by 0.3 pct. The number of entrepreneurs, employees of entrepreneurs and self-employed people was up by 1,550 pct, or by 0.4 pct, while the number of registered individual agricultural producers was down by 355, or by 0.6 pct, the RZS also said.
