BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Monday attended a session of a council set up to coordinate measures and activities aimed at GDP growth.

The council said Serbian Q1 GDP was up by a higher-than-expected 0.7 pct, the Serbian government said in a statement.

Brnabic said industry and agriculture were the sectors to be credited for the GDP growth.

She noted that Serbia was expected to register a GDP growth rate of 2.5 pct this year.

She said inflation was slowing down and stagnant and that it was expected to amount to around 8 pct at the end of the year.

She noted that further investment in capital projects was also necessary for maintaining sustainable economic growth, and pointed out that building a national stadium was important.

We can directly influence the tourism industry, Brnabic said, adding that Serbia was registering record-high numbers of Serbian and foreign tourists alike.

She noted the significance of promoting Serbia and all its landmarks in the best possible way in countries whose citizens have shown interest in visiting it.
