BELGRADE - State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Economy Darko Mitrovic and Libyan Ambassador to Serbia Mohamed Galboun met on Wednesday to discuss opportunities for advancement of economic cooperation.

"Bilateral relations between Serbia and Libya are traditionally good and relations between partners. A very modest level of trade constitutes the bulk of our economic cooperation, so there is ample room to advance it by increasing the trade volume as well as by increasing the number of potential investments," Mitrovic said.

"Serbian companies have positive experiences with the Libyan market, especially in the construction sector. We will invest additional efforts to connect Serbian and Libyan businesspeople," Mitrovic said.

According to a statement released by his ministry, Mitrovic called on Libyan investors to consider investing in Serbia, in particular, through greenfield investments or privatisation of enterprises from the ministry's portfolio.

Galboun thanked Mitrovic for the constructive discussion and interest in advancement of bilateral economic cooperation.

He noted that renewing contacts between businesspeople from the two countries would also be a major contribution to bilateral cooperation.
