BELGRADE - As of September 15, 2023, for the first time in its history, Air Serbia has carried more than three million passengers in scheduled and charter traffic in a single year, the airline announced on Monday.

"This is the best result since 2013, when the Serbian national airline rebranded to Air Serbia. This means that the best annual passenger traffic record achieved in the pre-pandemic year of 2019 has already been exceeded by seven percent in September," it said in a statement.

"In just over a month, on October 26, 2023, we will mark the 10th anniversary of business under the name Air Serbia. The results we are achieving today confirm that the strategy devised in 2013 was a winning one. The pandemic briefly slowed us down but did not divert us from the path of development. This year, in which we celebrate a decade of operations, is also the most successful since we have been operating as Air Serbia. By mid-September, we had already carried three million passengers. Following the positive trend, we are confident that the number of passengers carried by the end of 2023 will greatly exceed the previously announced 3.5 mln," said Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek.

Air Serbia flies to over 80 destinations worldwide, and besides its hub, Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport, passengers can also fly to their desired cities from the Nis Constantine the Great Airport and the Morava International Airport near Kraljevo, the statement also said.
