BELGRADE - In October, Air Serbia carried a total of 367,146 passengers on scheduled and charter flights, which represents a 50 pct increase compared to the same month of last year, or 45 pct growth compared to the record pre-pandemic year of 2019.

"From all three international airports in Serbia, the national airline operated a total of 3,970 flights, which is 43 pct more than in October 2022 and 38 pct more compared to 2019," Air Serbia said in a statement.

"October was our birthday month. Besides numerous activities we carried out during October to celebrate the company's ten years of operations, primarily focused on our passengers, we also opened a new retail shop in the Galerija Shopping Centre, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the British company Menzies Aviation, welcomed another Embraer E195 aircraft in Air Serbia's colours to Belgrade, and the results show that we have broken another record.

With over 367,000 passengers on our flights, this is the most successful October since we have been operating under the name Air Serbia. We are approaching the number of four million carried passengers in 2023, and if we get close to that number or surpass it, it will be a significant and important achievement for the Serbian national airline," Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek said.

Traditionally, the most popular destinations in the region in October were Podgorica and Tivat.

"When it comes to Western Europe, passengers mostly travelled to Zurich, Paris, Rome, and Amsterdam, while in the broader Euro-Mediterranean zone, the most sought-after Air Serbia services were to Istanbul, Larnaca, Athens, and Barcelona," Air Serbia said.
