BELGRADE - Air Serbia expects its revenues to exceed 500 mln euros in 2023, for the first time since it started operating under its present name, says the airline's CEO Jiri Marek.

Marek also expects the company to register record-high net profit by the end of the year, the Ex-Yu Aviation News internet portal reported.

"For the first time in history, our revenues will exceed half a billion euros, which is very significant, and we can see that all key performance indicators are on the rise... The demand in this region is so high that, even if we had larger capacities to distribute, they would be full, too," Marek was quoted as saying.

He added that Serbia's flagship carrier had registered a net profit of 22.4 mln euros in the first half of the year and was on the way to achieving "strong financial results for the whole year of 2023," as well as that the number of passengers was expected to reach 4 mln this year.

Marek also said Air Serbia planned to expand its flight network in 2024, focusing on increasing the frequency of flights.
