BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali says work on numerous major projects including the Belgrade Metro, EXPO 2027, a new Belgrade bus station, the BIO4 Campus, the road and rail network and Belgrade Waterfront are expected to be continued in 2024 and that funds for those purposes are available in this year's budget.

"We have not halted any of the investments - all of them are contributing to our GDP growth and helping infrastructure development in Serbia," Mali told Tanjug.

He said preparations for the construction of the Belgrade Metro were underway after a contract had been signed to build a depot and that a contract on execution of works on the first metro line was expected to be signed in March or April.

"By the end of next year, the design of a second line will be completed as well because we want to build the second line simultaneously with the first one to have both metro lines in operation by 2030. That will completely transform the city," Mali said.Service Photo Gallery
