BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Wednesday all indicators of the Serbian economy were absolutely positive and that the International Monetary Fund and all other international financial institutions had confirmed this.
"Serbia must not stop and we must fight for new sources of growth to help our GDP grow year by year, which is what the government will do," Mali said on Prva TV.
Despite all challenges, Serbia registered 2.5 pct GDP growth last year, when even Germany was seeing negative growth rates, he said.
"A small economy like Serbia is still growing. For the first time in history, we passed the 69 bln euro mark when it comes to GDP and, by comparison, our GDP was at 33 bln just 11 years ago. So, our GDP is rising, our country's wealth is rising and, with the Leap Into The Future programme, with new, additional investments, we want to reach the level of 100 bln GDP by 2027," he said.
