IMF mission to begin visit to Serbia on Thursday
BELGRADE - An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission will visit to Serbia on Thursday for a third review under an arrangement Serbia has with the international financial institution, with the first meeting to be held at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).
The IMF delegation will be headed by Mission head Donal McGettigan.
A plenary meeting of IMF and NBS delegations is scheduled for 9.30 am Thursday, the NBS has announced.
The IMF Board of Directors decided in December 2023 that the second review of the results of Serbia's economic programme, backed by a standby arrangement with the IMF, had been successful, the NBS said, adding that the excellent economic performance had made it possible to treat the standby arrangement as a precautionary arrangement one review earlier.
The positive assessment by the IMF Board of Directors has enabled Serbia to draw around 400 mln euros (316.53 SDR).
