Vucic meets with Sefcovic in Brussels
BRUSSELS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with European Commission Executive Vice-President for European Green Deal, Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight Maros Sefcovic in Brussels on Thursday to discuss current sustainability of energy systems, the contribution of nuclear power and other topics.
"An excellent meeting with Maros Sefcovic and an opportunity to exchange views on current sustainability of energy systems, the contribution of nuclear power, plans for the future, mining, minerals as well as joint Serbia-EU projects," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account after the first Nuclear Energy Summit, hosted in Brussels by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Kingdom of Belgium.
He added that they had also discussed Serbia's alignment with the EU when it comes to resource management, development of new technologies in the energy sector and, above all, environmental protection challenges and other issues that inevitably emerged as part of all energy transition-related plans.
