Serbian delegation to attend IMF-WBG spring meetings
BELGRADE - A Serbian delegation comprised of National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, Serbian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and their aides will attend the IMF-World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington from April 15 through 20.
Tabakovic is also Serbia’s governor to the IMF.
"The focus of this year’s Spring Meetings will be global economic developments, outlook and risks, issues relevant for macroeconomic and financial stability in the challenging international environment, urgent issues facing the global economy, such as the need to achieve full recovery, resolve debt vulnerabilities in low-income countries, and address emerging risks," the NBS announced in a statement.
"The meetings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) and the Joint Development Committee (JDC), advisory bodies of the IMF and the World Bank Group, will also take place. The IMF’s Managing Director will present the Global Policy Agenda.
The Serbian delegation will have a number of bilateral meetings with the management of these institutions to discuss current cooperation programmes, macroeconomic developments and expectations going forward.
Meetings with numerous investors will also take place, where investors will be informed about the potential of the Serbian economy, improved business environment and a robust upward trend of FDI.
Our delegation will also participate in the meeting of the Swiss Constituency, of which Serbia is a member, and in a closed meeting with central bank governors and finance ministers concerning the regional economic outlook for Central and Eastern Europe," it also said.
