MOSTAR - Kicking off a two-day working visit to Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday renewed direct flights between Belgrade and Mostar would be very significant for connecting peoples and business communities.

"I am very happy about this because it is of great significance for both Mostar and Belgrade, as well as for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia," Vucic said at the Mostar airport after arriving on an Air Serbia flight.

He said Air Serbia would be flying to the city three times a week and that return tickets were priced at 104 euros.

He said the airline's Mostar service would boost contacts between business communities.

"I am pleased we will attend another economic fair in Mostar," Vucic said, noting that the fair was an extremely important event.

"I congratulate our friends on keeping the tradition alive," he said.

Vucic also met with Bosnia and Herzegovina Council of Ministers Chairperson Borjana Kristo and deputy speaker of the House of Peoples of the Bosnia and Herzegovina parliament Dragan Covic, who is also the leader of the Croatian Democratic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Air Serbia airliner was ceremonially welcomed with a water cannon salute at the airport to mark the resumption of direct flights between Belgrade and Mostar after 33 years.Service Photo Gallery
