BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic met on Thursday with representatives of the French business association MEDEF, headed by Christophe Petit, to discuss priority investments in the energy sector and opportunities for cooperation with French companies with vast international experience in energy projects.

"Serbia is already cooperating successfully with MEDEF member companies in implementation of infrastructure projects. We also have developed cooperation with France in energy, as part of which we are working intensively on boosting the share of renewable energy sources in our energy mix," Djedovic said.

She noted that Serbia was in the process of adopting strategic documents in which renewables occupied a significant place when it comes to ensuring energy security.

Serbia is already cooperating with France's EDF as part of efforts to automate the power distribution network to "make our system more stable, more efficient and make it possible to reduce network losses," Djedovic also said.

French energy companies presented their experiences in management of energy projects, focusing on their expertise in renewables and implementation of innovative hydrogen solutions.
