BELGRADE - Serbian and Egyptian top officials will sign a FTA between the two countries in Cairo in the coming days, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PKS) President Marko Cadez announced on Monday.

Speaking to Pink TV, Cadez said the agreement would provide new business opportunities to Serbian entrepreneurs.

He said a Women's Business Forum would be held in Cairo as well and that a major Serbia-Egypt business forum would follow, with around 60 representatives of Serbian companies to attend.

He said Serbia's FTAs with China and Egypt were also a result of "phenomenal relations" between political leaders.

He said the Egyptian market would be very interesting to Serbian fruit producers as well as importers of certain raw materials that would now become available at lower prices.

Cadez also announced Serbia's Sigma and an Egyptian company would next autumn open a joint factory that would produce disinfectants for the entire African market.

"When you are manufacturing in Egypt, the door to entire Africa is open to you," he noted.

He said Neomedica would start producing reagents with an Egyptian partner and that Eliksir was working on a major investment in the phosphate industry.

Cadez also said Serbia's Agromehanika was already cooperating successfully with the Egyptian market.

"A FTA is a framework that needs to be filled, now is the time to seek, and find, good partners and to work," Cadez said.
