Vucevic: I would say Serbia is safer than most European countries
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said on Friday Serbia was a safe country and that its authorities were watching developments in the country, the region and worldwide.
"I would say we are safer than most European countries. No one can rule out the possibility of someone attempting to threaten security, but I believe our authorities are watching all developments closely," Vucevic told reporters when asked to comment on the fact the UK government has still not removed a travel warning for Serbia published on its website after last month's terrorist attack outside the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, in which a Serbian gendarme was wounded with a crossbow arrow.
Vucevic noted that he disagreed with the UK government's views and that he believed the government and the president of Serbia looked after Serbian citizens and tourists visiting the country.
"We have no indication of threat to Serbia when it comes to extremism and terrorism. We are, of course, analysing everything that is going on around us as well as worldwide," Vucevic said.
