Ristic meets with UK ambassador to Belgrade

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic met with UK Ambassador to Belgrade Edward Ferguson on Friday.

Ristic informed the ambassador of his ministry's work and ongoing years-long capital projects in the telecommunications sector, as well as of this year's successfully completed competitions in the public information sector.

The parties said cooperation between their countries was developing intensively, and defined opportunities for its further advancement towards joint work on development of information and communication technologies, one of the main pillars of Serbia's economic development, the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications said in a statement.

They especially highlighted cooperation on a project aimed at bolstering information security.

The parties concluded there was a need and full mutual consent to increase the number of joint projects in the future and also established mechanisms for advancement of cooperation in the coming period.

Ristic informed the ambassador of Serbia's plans to host EXPO 2027 in Belgrade and said it was his pleasure to invite the UK to take part in the important event.
