BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Chinese Ambassador to Belgrade Li Ming on Friday to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and other topics and the two parties said they were satisfied with the excellent relations and the developed political dialogue at high and the highest level.

Djuric noted that the steely Serbia-China friendship had been given a new impetus through a recent visit to Serbia by Chinese President Xi Jinping and added that Serbia had been greatly honoured by the opportunity to host Xi in Belgrade after nearly eight years, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

The numerous successes we continue to achieve across all fields of cooperation are also a result of the close communication and personal friendly ties between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Xi, Djuric said.

He thanked friendly China for its principled support and consistent position when it comes to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, which he noted was inestimably important for the protection of Serbia's vital national interests, in particular amid current heightened tensions and the difficult position of the Serb population in Kosovo-Metohija.

Commenting on the importance of economic cooperation, Djuric said it was developing dynamically through implementation of capital projects in road and railway infrastructure and energy and was accompanied by growing investment cooperation and rising trade volumes.Service Photo Gallery
