Vucic meets with German ambassador to Belgrade
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with German Ambassador to Belgrade Anke Konrad on Tuesday to inform her of developments in Kosovo-Metohija and note a need for a reaction by the international community to ensure security to Serbs.
"I informed the ambassador of developments in Kosovo-Metohija and noted a need for a clear and unequivocal reaction by the international community to ensure security to Serbs and protect their rights. I reiterated that Pristina's unilateral moves lead to an unnecessary and dangerous escalation of tensions that can erode the hard-won peace across the region," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.
He said the meeting with Konrad had also addressed energy security issues and challenges on the path to sustainable solutions, as well as development of suitable infrastructure to support Serbia's plans and solve difficulties in the energy sector for the long term, "with maximum compliance with the highest international environmental standards," he added.
"I thanked Germany for supporting our European path and for its large investments in our country, which are a driving force of economic growth and development of Serbia as well as our modernisation and integration in the European market. I noted that that also lays a strong foundation for a sustainable and stable economic future of our country, in which we see Germany as one of the key partners," Vucic wrote in the post.
