BELGRADE - At an event that marked his cabinet's hundred days in office, Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said his government was one of a continuity that spanned the changes in 2012, two Alekandar Vucic governments, three Ana Brnabic governments and the present times, and noted that general well-being of the citizens was the government's goal.

"To us, the matter of continuity is a matter of identity. That is why we, as the government, have decided to address you, the citizens of our state, from the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, the heart of our cultural heritage and a symbol of our nation's history. A place that is not just a museum, but a guardian of our past and a reminder of all that our ancestors are, an inspiration for what we can and must respect and what we will be doing in the future," Vucevic said.

Today, the government is there for you and for all Serbs wherever they may live, as well as for every individual who believes in a stronger, better Serbia, he said.

"Serbia is working because it stands firmly on the firm foundations of its rich history, intertwined into all pores of our country. That history connects us with our roots and our ancestors, from the Patriarchate of Pec to the Church of St Sava, and gives us the strength to continue again and again and to never give up on our people and Serbia," he said.

The Serbs and all Serbian citizens are proud of their past and determined to retain their identity, as well as to live in peace with everyone in the region, Vucevic said.

"That is why Serbia is strong and stable today and looking courageously to its certain future. It is our duty to safeguard our cultural heritage, cherish the tradition and secure the integrity of our state. Culture is not only heritage but also a bridge to the future in which we will together build a society worthy of our ancestors but in which we will, above all, be responsible to our descendants," he said.

He said Serbia's international position was stable and well-respected, mostly due to its ability to preserve its traditional values while modernising itself as a society and as a state.

"That is not mutually exclusive. On the contrary, if we want to succeed, our modernisation and overall progress must be based on the historical roots of our nation and our state," Vucevic said.

"We want every citizen to live a good life and to be able to work and contribute to the development of our country and their quality of life. Serbia is strong because of its people and our commitment to education and development of, above all, human resources, which guarantee a certain and brighter future for us all," Vucevic concluded.
