BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic received a North Macedonian government delegation on Wednesday.
The parties concluded they would focus on implementing concrete projects and initiatives with the aim of further integration and advancement of bilateral relations, which they said would help regional stability and prosperity.
The North Macedonian delegation was comprised of Deputy PM and Minister of Inter-Community Relations Ivan Stoilkovic, Deputy PM and Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Mucunski.
Brnabic said North Macedonia could always count on Serbia's sincere support and partnership.
The parties addressed opportunities for further development of friendly ties through reliance on shared history and close cultural ties, an official statement said.
Placing special emphasis on parliamentary cooperation, they said they were pleased a North Macedonia-Serbia friendship group had been formed in the North Macedonian parliament.
Brnabic noted the significance of North Macedonia as Serbia's economic partner both in external trade and investment cooperation.
Also discussed was a protocol signed in Skopje to enable the establishment of a liberalised labour market as part of the Open Balkan initiative, which will help improve the business environment and tackle the problem of workforce shortages, the statement said.
Stoilkovic said he was pleased the cooperation was growing stronger and noted that the strong and lasting ties between the two nations represented a solid foundation for further advancement of cooperation at all levels.
