BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic met with Kazakh Deputy PM Serik Jumangarin in Belgrade on Thursday to discuss advancement of bilateral cooperation and future joint projects.

Vucevic said Serbia and Kazakhstan maintained excellent cooperation in the sectors of agriculture, military technology and the military economy, and added that there was space for further advancement of cooperation in those sectors, too, the Serbian government said in a statement.

The meeting raised numerous topics with a view to developing the cooperation further, and work on implementation will be underway until the upcoming meeting between Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Kassym Jomart Tokayev, he said.

Vucevic thanked Kazakhstan for supporting Serbia's territorial integrity and for abstaining in a UN General Assembly vote on a Srebrenica resolution and understanding that such a document brought no good to the region.

He said he believed further work within the framework of a bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which met in Belgrade earlier in the day, would be fruitful and that the two countries would continue to maintain, cherish and advance their excellent bilateral relations.

Jumangarin expressed the confidence the commission would lend a new impetus to bilateral trade and economic cooperation and that Serbia and Kazakhstan would continue their excellent military and agricultural cooperation.

He announced Kazakhstan would attend the specialised EXPO 2027 in Belgrade and noted that his country had an excellent experience with the event after hosting one in Astana in 2017.
