Serbian Democracy officials released from detention in K Mitrovica
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Serbian Democracy leader Aleksandar Arsenijevic and the party's deputy president Ivan Orlovic, who were arrested in northern Kosovska Mitrovica on Tuesday for alleged disruption of public order, have been released from detention after being handed fines, Tanjug's correspondent reports.
They were arrested for blowing whistles while Pristina's PM Albin Kurti and two of his ministers were visiting the northern part of the town under heavy police security.
Following the arrest, Serbian Democracy members and other citizens gathered outside a police station in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, blowing whistles in protest and demanding the release of Arsenijevic and Orlovic as well as four young Serbs arrested last night on charges of allegedly attacking an "officer on duty."
