Vucevic: Measures to be aimed at preserving peace, protecting Kosovo-Metohija Serbs
BELGRADE - In Friday's address to the nation, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will explain developments in Kosovo-Metohija and what the state will do about them, PM Milos Vucevic said, adding that the state measures would be aimed at preserving peace and protecting the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.
"At 6 pm, the president of the Republic will explain what exactly is going on, but much more accurately and in greater detail, so that all citizens of the Republic of Serbia get a full, comprehensive picture and that we understand what is happening to us and why, and what the goal of it is. He will, of course, say what action our state will take in the period to come," Vucevic told the RTS.
He added that decisions to be announced by Vucic reflected a joint position of the president and the government of Serbia.
By protecting the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, we are protecting entire Serbia in terms of peace and stability and the country's further development, Vucevic said.
He said Pristina's PM Albin Kurti was constantly taking new steps to provoke the Serbs and show them they could not remain and survive in Kosovo-Metohija.
"I am almost certain he will not halt that political agenda, plans and objectives, especially as elections are to be held in the province in February... He can only talk about a showdown with the Serbs, whom he always defines as organised crime groups," Vucevic said.
