Directive abolishing visas for Kosovo-Metohija Serbs signed in Strasbourg
STRASBOURG - An EU directive abolishing visas for holders of Serbian passports from the autonomous province of Kosovo-Metohija, issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate, was signed in Strasbourg on Wednesday.
The directive was signed by European Parliament President Robeta Metsola and Hungarian Minister for European Affairs Janos Boka as a representative of the country presiding over the Council of the EU.
The implementation of the directive can begin following its publication in the EU Official Journal.
Concluding the EU's legislative process on the matter, the Council of the EU decided on July 22 to abolish visas for holders of Serbian passports from Kosovo-Metohija after the European Parliament voted on April 23 in favour of visa liberalisation for holders of the passports.
