Lajcak: Time to start implementation of normalisation agreement in earnest
BRUSSELS - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak says preparations are underway for an upcoming Brussels meeting of chief negotiators in the EU-facilitated dialogue, scheduled for October 24, and that it was time to "start the implementation in earnest."
"This past several days have been mostly about preparation as we gear up for the upcoming meeting of Chief Negotiators on 24 October in Brussels," Lajcak wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday evening.
"It's time to start the implementation in earnest," he added.
The chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina last met with Lajcak in Brussels on September 17, but no trilateral meeting was held.
The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic, who is also Belgrade's chief negotiator, said at the time a trilateral session had been rejected by Pristina's chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi after Belgrade's delegation insisted on topics such as a Community of Serb Municipalities, postal services and implementation of agreements, presenting measures for protection of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.
